At some point, you would think Diane would run short of interesting people in the cycling world to have on the show. However, you would be wrong. In fact, the deeper she digs, the more interesting the people seem to be. This week’s show is a case in point.
Our first guest is Thomas Prehn, Director of the Cateye Service and Research Center, located in Boulder, Colorado. Cateye of course makes bike computers and lights, but Thomas is also a former national road racing champion, author of a book on bike racing tactics, and is known for his stunning photography.
After a short, but concentrated section of news and calendar, Diane welcomes Alayne Crawford of the Canadian Automobile Association, which just last week held a conference called Changing Lanes, which was designed to “improve the bike-car relationship on Canada’s roads.” What a concept for an automobile association to host a conversation like this!
And we’re not finished yet. We save the best (IMNSHO) for last. Clevelander Doug Bahniuk joins us in the studio to cap off the program. Doug is a Clinical Engineer who was diagnosed several years ago with Parkinson’s Disease. Since his diagnosis, he’s ridden both cross-country and completed a 382-mile ride in Alaska. This summer, he’s riding 900 miles from Prudhoe Bay to Anchorage, Alaska. Solo. Unsupported. You must hear Doug tell about his past adventures and what he expects to encounter on his upcoming ride.
